Put Moccasin Creek State Park in your GPS and we are just south of that location. Do NOT use mapquest as it does not provide correct directions.
Go 400 to Dahlonega, which turns, into a 2-lane road. Going straight from 400 the number changes to 19, take a right on Hwy. 115 to Cleveland – watch for signs at square, go north on U.S. 129 in Cleveland, turn right on Ga. 75 at Ingles, then go thru Helen, take a right on Hwy. 356, signs will say to Unicoi State Park, go to Hwy. 197, then take a left on Hwy. 197 to Lake Burton. Your first see the lake at LaPrades Marina & the Chop House restaurant, out office is right across the hwy. – The green cabin on the right going up the hill.

I-85 North to I-985. Will change numbers to Hwy. 365/441 Although it remains the same highway. Continue to Clayton, GA.& turn left on to Hwy. 76 West at the Dairy Queen Red light, go about 12 miles to Hwy. 197 & go left. Go 5.3 miles (past Moccasin Creek State Park) and La Prades Marina will be on your left. Snooks Cabins office is directly across the street on the right side of Hwy 197. Or the scenic rte. go Hwy. 197 Clarkesville/Mt. Airy exit off 365/441- go left on Hwy 197. Be sure to watch for signs that direct you towards 197 when you are coming through Clarksville. Stay on Hwy. 197 this will bring you to Lake Burton. The first sight of the lake will be at LaPrades Marina. Our office is directly across the street at 68 Tradition Circle. Click on B for directions to LaPrades and click on C for directions to Snooks Cabins.
